A city Tour of Colonial Quito ia a half day excursion that can be done in the morning or in the afternoon. Your Guide will pick you up from your hotel at the established time; first you will be driven to the colonial center of Quito with stops on the way, like The National Basilic of Ecuador. As well, you will see others some importants monuments. The guide all the time will tell you all about the history of Ecuador and Quito, it means, the Quitus Culture, the Inca Empire, Spanish invasion and finally the independence period.
There, in the old town, you will start the walking tour for aproximatly 2 hours, in order to see historic jewels like famous squares (san Francisco, Sto. Domingo), traditional streets like La Ronda, churches like the golden one (The Jesuit's) and colonial buildings like the Independence Square, the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop Palace, The City Hall, The Cathedral; also, It will be a good time to visit some museums like the Mena Caamaño (colonial wax-figures) or the City´s Museum with all about colonial history in Quito.
On the end, you will be taken to the Panecillo Hill, where we have our winged Virgin of Quito (41 meters steel statue), from here you´ll have one of the best view of Quito and the surrounded snowcapped volcanoes.
Return to your Hotel around noon, right before lunch
